Collection: Radiesse

About Radiesse

Radiesse is made by Merz Aesthetics. It is not a hyaluronic acid filler. It contains 30% calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres in a 70% gel carrier made of carboxymethylcellulose (CMC). The gel gives immediate lift and volume. Over time, the gel carrier is absorbed and the CaHA microspheres support the skin to produce its own collagen and elastin. This is why Radiesse is called a biostimulatory filler.

Results generally last 12–18 months or longer.

Radiesse+ Lido vs Radiesse

Radiesse+ Lido (1 x 1.5 mL)

  • 30% CaHA with integrated 0.3% lidocaine.
  • Placed in the deep dermis, the deep subcutaneous layer or on the bone (supra-periosteal).
  • For jawline and chin, cheekbones and mid-face, deep nasolabial folds and marionette lines, and the backs of the hands.

Radiesse (1 x 3 mL)

  • 30% CaHA, without lidocaine.
  • For structural contouring of the lower face, jawline and chin, and for the hands.
  • Also used in diluted or hyperdiluted form for skin firmness and texture on the face, neck, décolleté and body.
  • The larger 3 mL syringe is practical for larger areas and for diluted use.

How Radiesse is different from HA fillers

  • Collagen stimulation. Radiesse adds volume and also helps the skin produce new collagen. HA fillers mainly add volume and hydration.
  • Firmer support. Radiesse gives strong structural lift, which is why it is popular for the jawline, chin and cheekbones.
  • Not for the lips or under the eyes. These areas are usually treated with soft HA fillers instead.
  • Cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Hyaluronidase only works on hyaluronic acid fillers.
